This mix of yellows, red, peach, and coral colored blooms is a beautiful addition to bouquets and dried floral arrangements. We love to harvest strawflower in bundles and hang upside down to dry for projects later in the season for use in garlic braids and winter wreaths. Their bright, papery stiff blooms continue to thrive with each harvest as the plants branch out, all the way until the first frost. Flowers keep their cheerful color as dried flowers for years. Tags: Color: Mix, Season: Summer.

Strawflower is native to Australia, and is a member of the Asteraceae family. They’re similar to daisies, but what appears to be petals are actually modified leaves called bracts. These bracts are papery and stiff, and make excellent dried flowers.
