HOW TO GROW EVENING PRIMROSE
Direct sow seeds in early spring 8-10 weeks before the last frost. Seeds need light to germinate, so press seeds lightly into soil. Keep moist. Transplant outdoors when danger of frost is done. Space plants 1-2 ft apart. The mature plants grow in many different soil types, and re-seeds easily. To prevent Evening Primrose from spreading invasively, cut back the plants after blooming. Hardiness zones 2-12. Biennial.

Evening Primrose was an important herb and food to indigenous peoples of North America who ate the nutty root of the plant, and used the leaves, flowers, and seeds as medicine.
