Restoration Seed's Mission Statement
To preserve heirloom and open-pollinated seeds. To provide seeds that are 100% savable and thus support food sovereignty. To support local farmers as a fair trade link to customers. To support local community garden projects and schools with access to seeds.
Gratitude and Land Acknowledgement
We are thankful for the farmers, gardeners, and growers who contribute their seeds. We give thanks for the ability to tend to fertile soil, to have access to clean water, and for clean air. We give thanks to the animals, insects, fungal community, and plants who all work together to create balance in the garden.
We want to acknowledge that the site where Restoration Seeds resides is located within the ancestral homelands of the Shasta, Takelma, and Latgawa peoples who lived here long before Euro-American colonization. If you are a First Nations person, please reach out directly to see how we can best support you with our work.
Finally, we are thankful for the opportunity to share our seeds with fellow gardeners, and farmers, and are grateful for the collaborative support.
Our Reason For Being
Restoration Seeds grew out of a small group of Southern Oregon farmers who grow seeds for other farmers and gardeners. We recognized that because only open-pollinated seeds can be saved and grown true to type, they are the foundation of our food security and sovereignty.
We are only here for a short time, yet our lifestyle makes a lasting impact. We ask ourselves, how can we leave the Earth in a better way for the generations to come? How can we make choices that heal, sustain, and regenerate the land, air, and water?
