This hardy annual is frost hardy. It is best to sow directly into garden beds as soon as the soil can be worked in the spring to encourage strong plants that will produce many weeks of bloom. Sow seeds 1-2 inches apart, 1/4 inches deep, in well-drained, moist soil in full sun/partial shade. When seedlings are established at 2-3 inches tall, thin or transplant 8-10 inches apart. Sow again in the late summer for fall blooms. Hardiness zones 4-10. Annual.
