HOW TO GROW BALM OF GILEAD

Takes two to 10 weeks to germinate, apply bottom heat like tomatoes. Grow in rich moist soil. Improve germination with scarification. Propagate by root cuttings at stem base or seed. Hardy from zone 9, frost tender, grown in pot to winter indoors in cooler climates. Plant grows to 3’ tall and wide brush, shiny leaves uncharacteristic of Lamiaceae family. Barely cover seeds, tamp in firm, keep evenly moist, germination is slow and spotty. Soil pH 6.1-7.8. Hardiness zones 9-11. Perennial.
