Sow seeds in spring for fall blossoms. In Zones 7-10, snapdragons are tender perennials that can be seeded in the fall outdoors for spring blooms. To improve germination rate, chill seeds for 3-5 days in the refrigerator prior to planting.Sprinkle seeds on soil surface. Do not cover to allow exposure to sunlight for germination. Keep seeds moist, but do not over water. Thin seedlings 6-12” apart. For colder climates, start seeds indoors 8-10 weeks before last frost. Plant outdoors when plants are 3-4” tall. Pinch the growing tips to promote bush growth, and deadhead older blooms to promote further blooming. Prune plants 6” tall mid-season after a big bloom, and they will bloom again late season. Soil pH 6.2-7.
