HOW TO GROW SNAPDRAGONS

Sow seeds in spring for fall blossoms. In Zones 7-10, snapdragons are tender perennials that can be seeded in the fall outdoors for spring blooms. To improve germination rate, chill seeds for 3-5 days in the refrigerator prior to planting.Sprinkle seeds on soil surface. Do not cover to allow exposure to sunlight for germination. Keep seeds moist, but do not over water. Thin seedlings 6-12” apart. For colder climates, start seeds indoors 8-10 weeks before last frost. Plant outdoors when plants are 3-4” tall. Pinch the growing tips to promote bush growth, and deadhead older blooms to promote further blooming. Prune plants 6” tall mid-season after a big bloom, and they will bloom again late season. Soil pH 6.2-7.

Idyllwild Conventional Seed grower since 2018
Idyllwild was born of our joyful curiosity and celebration of nature’s diverse gifts. Following nature’s model of open dispersal and dissemination, we share these seeds with you and invite you to play in the garden of abundance. We learn from nature and she has taught us to live and think in terms of “abundance” instead of “scarcity”. Diversity - in all forms, from genetic to creative expression - is the heart of resilience. We enjoy experimenting with myriads of flavors, colors, and textures and the world opens to us in infinite possibilities. As a result, we are nourished in body, mind, and spirit."
