HOW TO GROW CHASTE TREE


Scarify the seeds lightly on medium grit sandpaper. Then, soak the seeds in cold water and keep in the refrigerator for 30 days before sowing to break dormancy. Plant seeds 1/4” deep in soil, tamp down firmly, and keep seeds moist and very warm until germination. Germination may take up to 30 days. Seedlings should stay in pots for the first year or two of growth, transplanting to larger pots as needed. When transplanting into the landscape, allow a 15’ space between plants. Soil pH 6.1-7.0. Hardiness zones 6-8. Perennial.
