HOW TO GROW GAYFEATHER

Start indoors 4–6 weeks before last frost, plant out after frost. Direct sow outdoors after frost in fine soil. Keep moist until germination. Prefers full sun, it can grow in semi-shade. In times of drought, water weekly until soil is completely moist. Sometimes requires 2 years before blooming. Strong roots go down as deep as 16’, clings well to poor well-drained soil. Do not over water, does best with other plants that do not like extra water. This native plant grows from a corn. Divide every 3–4 years. Sow 5 Ounces per 1,000 Square Feet, 13 pounds per acre. Surface sow, press into soil, do not cover. Soil pH 5.8–6.8. Hardiness zones 3–9. Perennial.
